I've owned Braun Oral B's ever since they came on the market. I wouldn't even consider buying anything else. Once you've used an Oral B, you can never return to manual brushing!
The Triumph 9930 with 'Smart Guide' is absolutely the best power toothbrush I've ever seen! I wasn't expecting Braun to be able to improve on an already outstanding product, but they did. The Model 9930, along with the 'Floss Action' brush head stimulates the gums and gets below the gum line. Most people lose their teeth as a result of gum problems--not tooth decay.
The Triumph 9930 features the 'Smart Guide', a wireless timer you can place nearby while brushing. When you turn on the toothbrush, it sends a signal to the 'Smart Guide' to begin timing exactly how long you've brushed. It's a really neat and useful feature because I lose track of all time while brushing. When you're finished brushing, there's even a Smiley Face on the display for positive reinforcement. The timer also serves as a convenient bathroom clock when it's not being used for brushing!
There's an easy-to-read 'battery indicator' located on the toothbrush. The previous Braun models I've owned did not have this convenient feature. Now, it's easy to tell when the toothbrush is fully charged.
This model has a handy, flip-up, clear plastic lid for the brush head storage compartment. It's nice not to have the brush heads exposed to the air as with the previous models.
The unit is sturdy and well designed with that German quality and reliability. There's nothing cheap-looking about it. It will look very nice in your bathroom.
I've given Oral B's as gifts to family members and friends over the years. They'll usually ask jokingly, "Is this a hint or something?" It doesn't take long for them to realize that you're giving them an Oral B because you care about them and because it's a superior product. Then, it's fun to watch them tell their friends all about how great these power toothbrushes are. Once they own an Oral B, the recipient always becomes a convert for life!
I gave my sister one of these units as a gift. She constantly fought with and threaten her teenaged son just to get him to brush his teeth. Once the Oral B came into the house, she never again had to ask him to brush his teeth...he began brushing 4 or 5 times a day without being told because he thinks the Oral B is really cool! If you have trouble getting your children to brush their teeth, you may want to try one of these units with the "Smart Guide". It just might be a hit with your kids, too.
A second sister had similar results with her four children.
The 9930 is such a improvement over Braun's previous models that I'm buying another unit as a gift for my mother. She has owned Oral B's over the years, but I think she'll like this improved model even better.
$120+ for a toothbrush might sound like a lot of money to you. However, I'd venture to say you'll probably save at LEAST that much money with your first visit to the dentist's office. The Triumph 9930 is THAT good.
Buying a good power toothbrush has become a daunting task because of the many choices availble these days. It's my humble opinion that you cannot do better than the Braun Oral B 9930 with "Smart Guide".

I received my Triumph 9930 just a few days ago and I am already in love with it. I have not even used any of its several features yet, but I like how clean my mouth feels after brushing. In all the years of using a regular toothbrush and flossing, I only felt like my mouth was this healthy and clean after visiting the dentist. If only using the Triumph meant that we never had to go to the dentist again,...right?

This toothbrush is awesome. It tells you when to switch quadrants, and makes sure you don't put too much pressure on your teeth.
I've been using it for a few weeks, and I love it so far...we'll see what my dentist says, but I know my teeth feel cleaner now than with a manual toothbrush!
