"Finally... Oral-B power toothbrush refills without the drugstore hassle" 2008-10-31By

I've had a Braun Oral-B Toothbrush Ultra Power Handle w/Timer for about five years. Got it because my dentist said the oscillating action this model has was good to not only brush the teeth, but that it would scrub away plaque from between teeth and along gum lines better than my old 'up-and-down' electric or regular toothbrushes.
And of course he repeated that old saying, "Two minutes, twice a day." His dental hygienist also advised replacing the brushes every three months, just like with regular toothbrush. That's great advice, except what can you do if you can't find replacement brush refills?
Have you had trouble finding replacement Oral-B power toothbrush refills in your local store? I never thought that going to a grocery or drug store would results in such a hassle about finding replacement brushes, and I won't bore you with the details. But the brushes are indeed available right here, and if you check the prices carefully you'll find that there are some bargains to be had, and in almost all cases they're cheaper than your local store.
They're called 'Precision Clean' (the new name for 'Flexisoft') and should be marked 'EB17'. You can get them here as well:
¤ Oral-B Precision Clean Replacement Brush Head Refill
¤ Oral-B Precision Clean 3-pack brush head refill
¤ Oral-B EB17-3 Power Toothbrush Replacement Brush Heads
¤ Oral-B Precision Clean - 4 Replacement Brush Heads
¤ 9 (3X3) Oral-B Replacement Fexisoft Brushheads EB-17
¤ Oral-B 3 Precision Clean + 1 Interspace Refills
These refills are compatible with most Oral-B electric toothbrushes except Vitality Sonic, Sonic Complete or CrossAction. If you have an Oral-B electric toothbrush that is noted to take Precision Clean, FlexiSoft, ExtraSoft, EB17, or PowerPolisher brush heads, then these will work.
As noted earlier, keep your eye open on the prices, as they do seem to vary quite a bit. Some are sold by vendors, but shipping may be free and marked 'Fulfilled by Amazon'. You can also search here for 'eb17', 'precision clean', or 'flexisoft' and you should be able to find them.
If you're shopping locally, be aware that there are counterfeit Oral-B heads on the market, and they may be hard to spot, though the Oral-B logo seems to wipe off on some of them. They're usually marked "Flexisoft" and have German and/or Chinese writing on them, and can break in two days to two weeks. The bogus brushes also present a health risk, especially for young children, as some have had the oscillating head break off or the brush part disintegrate. Enough said.
Speaking of brush heads, when you replace your Oral-B brush, don't just throw it out. Keep it and use it for effortlessly cleaning or polishing small items such as jewelry.
"An easy, safe, effective way to brush" 2005-08-14By

Dentists all over the country are recommending the Oral-B electric toothbrush. There are several reasons. It does the work for you, vibrating thousands of times a second, it lets you clean your teeth without scraping your gums with a toothbrush, which can cause them to recede and bleed, and it reaches between your teeth to catch plaque and germs. This is a wonderful toothbrush, and I recommend it. However, if you want a review of a toothbrush, you'll read the toothbrush page. This is a page for replacement heads.
There's a lot of confusion about replacement heads for Oral B electric toothbrushes on Amazon, and I just want to give you all some facts. There are only three kinds of heads for ALL Oral-B electric toothbrushes. Flexisoft EB17, Extrasoft EB17, and Ortho OD17. I prefer Flexisoft EB17, which is what this item is. (The Extrasoft is a little too soft, and the Ortho is overpriced)
The reason I mention this is that the prices are all over the board for what is the same product. Make sure you find the best deal, because they're all the exact same product, listed multiple times! The number after the dash (for example EB17-3) just means how many toothbrush heads you'll be receiving. (This particular Amazon page is for a single head, so it has no number) You can easily find the best deal by taking a look at all the products offered on Amazon, and dividing the cost by the number of heads.
