Can't believe that a company like Oral B could put out a product this bad. I have had two go bad, one in one week and the other in two months. On/off switch doesnt work. Brush runs continously unless put on the charger, then it stops.

We have had the same experience as others. After a few months, it will not turn off. It is a piece of junk and I would only recommend it to someone I did not like!

I am giving this item one star only because I cannot give it any less. I am willing to bet that those who gave this toothbrush good reviews did so within a couple of months of the purchase. My experience has been nearly identical to that of another reviewer (Dave. L.)--except that I stopped buying these pieces of junk after two. I bought one on March 22 2005; it had stopped working by early May '05. I returned it to the store where I bought it and they were nice enough to give me a replacement unit. It lasted until July 29 '05. I am writing this review now after my failed attempts to obtain satisfaction from Braun customer service--a misnomer if ever there was. When I called the 800 number, the woman I spoke to told me I could receive a refund if I sent the broken machine to an address she gave me (Gillette Company, BTW). I sent all the receipts, the broken unit, and a letter of explanation with a request for a refund. Several months went by. I received a notice denying my request because "The dated sales receipt you enclosed is in excess of 30 days" (I guess they're willing to out on a limb and guarantee the toothbrush for 30 days.) I called the 800 number again, where they gave me another number, etc. I don't remember the whole runaround I got, but eventually someone promised over the phone to send me a check for the amount I had paid. Again, nothing for months. Then one cold day last February I received in the mail (drum roll): the broken toothbrush unit. I was so made I left it sitting on a shelf until yesterday, when I threw it away. Much as I want Braun to be accountable for their inferior product, it is not worth my time and energy to continue pursuing it. But, after having such a bad experience with Braun's "customer service" it is unlikely I will even buy another Braun product no matter how glowing the reviews.

The Braun Oral-B Advancepower 900 tooth brush rarely works more than two or three months before the ON/OFF switch stops working. I know, I have purchased three of them and every one of them has stopped working properly. The most aggravating symptom is that the unit will not turn off. The on/off switch stops working. Eventually the unit will complete discharge and no longer work. Putting the discharge unit on its stand will recharge some units but the On/Off/Timer function never "reset" after a complete discharge. When the unit does not turn off, putting the unit back on its charger will stop it from vibrating. But on other units I have bought the handle will spontaneously start vibrating while on its charger stand. I unit I currently have will start vibrating in the middle of the night making a eerie sound coming from my bathroom and waking me up in the process. Having three units that I purchased fail one after the other demonstrates shoddy workmanship and poor design. What a piece of junk.

They charged me over $25 to ship two of these.
